About Dr. Noela Mogga

Dr. Noela Mogga; physician mentor, author and entrepreneur. Dr. Mogga is an anesthesiologist with more than 14years of professional experience practicing in SouthWest Texas area. She received her Doctorate of Medicine from the prestigious Georgetown School of Medicine. She completed residency training in Anesthesia at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. Dr. Mogga is a diplomate of the American Board of Anesthesiology. Active in her community providing health education and mentorship. It is Dr. Mogga's goal to increase the number of black girls entering into medicine.

Background

Dr. Noela Mogga was born in Sudan and studied elementary school in Juba until relocating with her family to Khartoum in 1989 fleeing the civil war. She attended the prestigious Unity High School in Khartoum. She pursued college studies at College of New Rochelle, USA where she double majored in Chemistry and Biology. One of the happiest days of her life was to hear her mother's ululations during her graduation ceremony, when she received summa cum laude honors. She began her medical career upon enrolling at Georgetown University School of Medicine in 2002, followed by a residency in anesthesiology at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.

Entrepreneurship

After seeing the lack of our stories in written form, Dr. Mogga decided to start Taste of South Sudan to preserve and share South Sudan’s foods, recipes, cultures and traditions.

As a physician, Dr. Mogga’s interest in natural skin care led her to develop Taste of South Sudan beauty products geared towards providing clients with luxury organic skin care.
